Do coffee scrubs really get rid of cellulite?
by Tiffany Kolbe
Coffee scrubs have become extremely popular lately due to the ability of caffeine to
reduce the visible signs of cellulite. I am sure a lot of people are wondering if this
really works. Speaking from my own experience, it does1.
The best way to use it is to scoop out a bit of scrub and rub it for 1-2 minutes directly on
the area where the cellulite is. Not only is our coffee scrub good for your problem areas,
it is also great for the entire body because it increases circulation while removing dry,
flaky skin. Our scrub will leave your skin looking soft and radiant.
So you might be asking what makes TiKo Soy's coffee scrub better than the rest? It's
what goes into our scrubs that make them stand out from the crowd. Listed below are the
ingredients we use and why we use them.
Pure Cane Sugar ·
We use sugar in our scrubs because they are gentler to the skin than
a salt scrub. Salt has a way of finding every cut and scratch on
your body and believe me it stings terribly. While the salt does
have its benefits, it can be very rough on the skin. The sugar will
gently slough off dead skin cells, increase circulation and will
leave your skin soft and radiant.
Coconut Oil ·
This oil is great for dry, sensitive skin. It will not clog the
pores and absorbs easily into the skin. It also helps to extend the
shelf life of other oils in the product.
Stearic Acid ·
We use a stearic acid that is vegetable derived. It works to thicken
the scrub and acts as an emulsifier, which helps to bind the oils together.
Avocado Oil ·
Avocado Oil is great for dry, sensitive skin and eczema. It is said
to have healing and regenerating qualities and acts as a natural
bactericidal as well. Rich in Vitamins A, D and E, it is easily
absorbed by the skin and will leave your skin soft and smooth.
Meadowfoam Oil ·
This oil is said to moisturize the skin better than most oils. It
helps prevent moisture loss and contains high levels of Vitamin E.
Kokum Butter ·
This is a wonderful butter that is known to soften skin and heal
ulcerations. It helps to regenerate skin cells, restore elasticity
and prevent dry skin and wrinkles.
Organic Shea Butter ·
This is a great butter for dry, aging skin. It is high in Vitamins A
& E which help to repair skin damage. Shea Butter is said to
protect the skin from the sun and regenerate skin cells while helping
to maintain elasticity. It moisturizes and softens the skin and
helps to relieve dry, itchy skin.
Coffee Butter ·
This oil offers natural protection from ultraviolet light. Coffee
oil is rich in phytosterols which promote excellent moisture
retention and quick penetration into the skin.
Polysorbate 20 ·
Like stearic acid, this works as an emulsifier to bind the oils
together. It is gentle and non-irritating.
Fragrance ·
An added touch of our Café au Lait blend. This gives our coffee
scrub its own unique sweetness.
Organic Ground Coffee ·
Used for its effects in reducing the appearance of cellulite as well
as its antioxidant properties.
Phenoxyethanol and Caprylyl Glycol ·
This is a non-paraben, non-formaldehyde releasing preservative. A
preservative is used to avoid bacteria and mold growth in the instance
that water is introduced into the scrub. As some bacteria growth cannot
be seen and can be deadly, I find it a necessity to use a preservative.
This is just an amazing scrub. I use it quite frequently and I just can't
get enough of it. It leaves my skin super soft. The first time I gave it a
try I thought it was wonderful. The oils soaked into my skin quickly and
there was no greasy after feel. When I woke up the next day, I felt my
skin and it was still silky soft and smooth.
While the coffee scrub has not completely gotten rid of the cellulite, it
has diminished its appearance. It is important to note that diet and exercise
also play a role in getting rid of cellulite. I exercise regularly and I am a
vegetarian. I also had minimal cellulite to begin with. However, in my opinion,
any cellulite is too much. If you'd like to give our coffee scrub a try, click
